Unveiling a Tribute to Reg Payne. Posted 28th July 2018 Michael Goodman On Wednesday 1st August at 12.30 hours, Reg Payne from Kettering and now 95 years old, will be paying Sywell Aviation Museum another visit, this time to unveil a display dedicated to his service as a wireless operator on Lancasters with 50 Squadron RAF during World War 2. After the War, Reg became a talented aviation artist, many of his works illustrating his wartime experiences. A print of one his many paintings is included in the display. This unique event will be a perfect photo opportunity with a chance to meet Reg who was one of the few crew members who came through 30 bombing operations unscathed.
